It’s that time of year again when Fantazia crashes back into town and this time we’re glowing with excitement. The banks of the Clyde are ready to be awoken by the sounds of the best in oldskool, hardcore and gabber as 5 live acts and over 40 DJs make sure you have the best night of your life. Fantazia will be even bigger and better than before as we introduce a fifth arena to the mix as the Gio-Goi Bus parks up on site to showcase the best in Scotland’s upcoming DJs. Mix these DJs with the acts ion the other 4 arenas and you’ve got the best Fantazia to ever hit Scotland!
The Main Arena is the place to be if you want the best in oldskool, anthems and hardstyle. Headlining the arena will be the legendary Scottish dance act Ultra-Sonic, who are without doubt one of the best dance acts to ever hit the scene. Their number 1 hit ‘Obsession’ is still to this day one of the biggest anthems played at club nights across the UK. It’s been a while since they donned their Fantazia caps so they are bound to put on a show worthy of their return at Braehead. Traxtorm Gangstaz Allied will perform a UK exclusive at Fantazia ‘The Ultimate UV Glow Show’, if you haven’t heard of these guys then you can be sure that you’ll remember them for the rest of your life after their performance at Fantazia. When you take all of the Italian DJs from the BTTF Presents Traxtorm Arena and put them together, you’ve got Traxtorm Gangstaz Allied. The stage will be full to the brim with the best in Italian hardcore talent as they show us how it’s really done when it comes to performing live. Shades of Rhythm will also make their welcome return to Fantazia as they are set to perform anthems such as ‘Sound of Eden’ and ‘Ecstasy’. Other live acts on the night include QFX and X-Control, who will keep their huge Scottish fan base more than happy with their always-electric performances.
Of course the Main Arena isn’t just full to the brim with live acts, there’s also the best of the scenes DJs on offer. For this Fantazia, we’ve got Hixxy & Sharkey performing a classics set, which is something that doesn’t happen very often in Scotland. You couldn’t have a Fantazia event without some Dutch hardstyle and this time the DJs representing Holland come in the form of The Prophet & Gizmo, 2 of the world’s greatest hardstyle acts around. Breeze & Styles will also be playing a special back-to-back set and if their last Fantazia performance is anything to go by then you know you’re in for a treat. Scottish heartthrob Scott Brown will also be back on the Main Stage, where he’ll have all the UV clubbers raving to the whole of his always-outstanding sets. As the Main Arena is home to the anthems, then we’ve got DJ Sy & Seduction playing very special classics sets, which will be something very special indeed. Finally, Fantazia just wouldn’t be the same without a set from Bass Generator, who has been an integral part to the events over the past 20 years. Don’t forget that there will also be the best MCs on offer too as Sharkey, Korrupt, Madman, Loco & Serge spit the best rhymes they can over the pounding beats.
Arena 2 will be going all Italian on us as BTTF & Traxtorm presents ‘Hardcore Italia’ for one night only in the UK. Traxtorm has been the original Hardcore power since 1995 and currently has some of the best hardcore DJs on their imprint. Over the past few years there has been the odd appearance of acts such as Art of Fighters and The Stunned Guys, but never before in Scotland has the brand hosted an arena at a festival which in turn brings all of the acts associated with the brand. When it comes to proper hardcore, it’s the Italians that know how to do it best so there’s no doubt that people will get not only a great night in Arena 2, but a lesson in proper hardcore. The DJs that will be teaching those lessons at Fantazia will be The Stunned Guys, Art Of Fighters, Unexist, Maddog, Nico & Tetta (who will perform a UK exclusive), Amnesys and Anime, making this a truly outstanding line-up. Of course the arena wouldn’t be complete without a set from some homegrown talent and this time it comes in the form of Obsession and DJ Q. With all this Italian talent in tow, it’s recommended you learn how to say ‘One More Tune’ in Italian!
Arena 3 is being taken over by hardcore stalwarts, Hardcore Till I Die. There’s only one word to describe HTID fans and that IS hardcore! They host events all over Europe and HTID fans travel far and wide to hear the best UK hardcore on offer. No HTID Arena at any festival is complete without the creators of the madness, Hixxy & Sharkey. They have been on the scene for nearly 2 decades and they have built up one of the most recognised brands in dance music. Having created relationships with some of the best names in the business, they are bringing their friends to their very own arena at Fantazia ‘The Ultimate UV Glow Show’. Dougal, Squad-E, Supreme, Sy ‘Morning Glory’ will be playing you some of the finest UK hardcore around. There’s also a very special set in the form of Brisk & Marc Smith B2B, which is a first for Fantazia. The Doctor and Bubble are your final entertainers for the evening as they bang out the most thumping beats you’re ever likely to hear. Keep it HTID!
Arena 4 will be transformed into the GB Xperience Arena once again for the evening as radio star George Bowie brings club & rave classics to the mix with his selection of the best DJs of the Scottish club scene. Ask any clubber in Glasgow what they listened to as they prepared for their weekend adventures and you can be rest assured that George Bowie’s GB Xperience show was the kick-start to their shenanigans. As one of the most influential radio hosts in Scotland, George Bowie has firmly cemented himself as a legend on the scene. After an amazing reception to his arena the last 2 Fantazia events, the GB Xperience Arena is back representing all that is great about home grown talent. He has hand selected the DJs for his arena, so we can be assured that there’s going to be no lack of talent here. George will headline, playing some of the club and rave tunes that will throw back all the memories to the ‘good old days’. Trevor Reilly, Joe Deacon, Stevie Kerr, Technotrance, Krystal, Art Newman, John Devlin, Paul D are the specially selected spinsters set to keep you raving all night long.
For the first time at Fantazia, there will be a fifth arena and it’s driving on to the site! The Gio-Goi Bus was a huge hit at recent EH1 Music Festival so the sponsors have decided to drive the bus over to Glasgow park up at Braehead Arena and this time it’s showcasing the best new hardcore and hardstyle uprising talent that Scotland has to offer. The lucky DJs who’ll make their Fantazia debut on the Gio-Goi bus will be Altered Ego, DJ Buzz, D’Zinerz, G-Force, Lost Origin, Vertical Drop, Zitkus, DJ Hutchy, Scott Bounce and Orpheus. Make sure you stop by the bus and show your support for all these bright young stars.
And finally, this Fantazia will attempt to set a world record at ‘The Ultimate UV Glow Show’ for the most ever ravers in UV glow clothing. The team from Guinness World Record’s will be attending this event to put this Fantazia in the history books as the biggest gathering of people in UV Glow clothing. The event will also have UV face painters on site to make sure that everything about the event is glowing from start to finish. We all know that Fantazia attendees love UV, so what better excuse to bring them all together in their favourite UV clothes! Make sure you’re a part of history by wearing as much UV as you can!
Come along and be part of the UV Glow Show on Saturday 26th September at Braehead Arena & Waterfront. If you want the best oldskool, hardcore and hardstyle acts, plus the chance to make the history books, then there’s only one place for you to be this September!
