It's legal to possess or import steroids as long as they're for personal use. Possession with intent to supply is not legal and sentence if found guilty can be up to 14 years in prison.

Anabolic steroids are most commonly sold as as tablets to be swallowed or injected in liquid form.

Prices in the UK do vary but average around £20 for 100 tablets.

There are many counterfeit Anabolic steroids around which people try to supply illegally, these can be made from veterinary products with obvious dangers.

Main long term effects can be:

- Feelings of aggression, irritability, paranoia & mood swings
- Stunted growth in the use of the young
- males can get Erection problems, breast growth, sterility & acne
- females can get facial hair, acne, deepening of the voice & sex drive changes
- insomnia & high blood pressure and organ failure
